Principal Shareholder

AREAS OF PRACTICE:

Mr. Wyers is a seasoned legal advisor. Having handled criminal cases ranging from mischief to murder, and literally hundreds of family law cases, his energies are now primarily devoted to estate management and planning, services to businesses and local governments, real estate transactions, and strategic problem solving.

While Mr. Wyers is one of the most experienced local lawyers in this area of practice, he recognizes that some situations call for specialized expertise, and to address that need he has created a network of experts in the Portland metropolitan area, most of whom will consult at no additional charge. This helps further the firm goal of providing big city service at small town prices and convenience.

Mr. Wyers has served as General Counsel to Hood River County Government since 1991. The county owns and operates as commercial forest land some 48,000 acres in Hood River, Umatilla and Grant counties. We have significant experience with legal issues relating to all phases of timber management and sale, including seedling production and planting, herbicide and pesticide application, thinning and cutting contracts, grazing leases, log export restrictions, and myriad other aspects of the forest products industry.

Mr. Wyers has handled hundreds of real estate transactions over the years, involving leases of all sorts, earnest money agreements, land sale contracts, mortgages, trust deeds, options, first rights of refusal, deeds in all their forms, life estates, easements, joint well agreements, roadway maintenance agreements and real estate closings. He has represented clients in legal actions involving most aspects of real estate. He has earned a reputation in the real estate community for getting the paperwork for a transaction together quickly, professionally, and affordably.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES:

Teunis is, and has been throughout his years as a lawyer, very active in the community. He has served on the local school board, Chambers of Commerce boards in both states, Rotary Clubs in both states, and numerous other boards, commissions, and committees. He has served as the Bingen / White Salmon Rotary Club President, and currently serves as Chairman of the Klickitat County Solid Waste Advisory board. Teunis is the founder and perpetual chairman of the Bingen / White Salmon area's annual Community Pride Week clean-up event. For his involvement in Community Pride Week, he was named the 2002 Individual Recycler of the Year by the Washington State Recyclers Association, an award not previously bestowed outside the solid waste industry.
